I saw this jacket and had to post it, it's amazing. Love the details and the vintage/mod cut. Alexander McQueen jacket, $4,325.
Seriously, I am in love with this girl's gutsy hair breaking move. It's a bad-ass change from the usually long locks that she used to sport on Big Love, the HBO drama in which she currently stars. I think it's great to see something so different for a change in Hollywood, and I am eager to see what other styles she will rocking in the future.
I understand that organization of a fashion show can’t be cheap but paying over $1 million for ten minutes of the presentation seems too unreal. However, Marc Jacobs’ CEO, Robert Duffy, revealed that Marc Jacobs’ Fall/ Winter 2011/ 2012 show cost the fashion house at least a million dollars. It’s $1,750 per second!!! I guess the saying "You Can't Put A Price on Fashion" suits just perfectly.

Draped across a bed in nothing but a pair of furry boots and a strategically-placed fur blanket, the sexy Diane Kruger definitely caught attention in her GQ photo shoot. Lisa Lange, vice president of PETA, spared no mercy in condemning the actress for the photos, stating to the NY Daily News, "There's nothing more vulgar and pretentious than flaunting the skins of animals who were violently killed for luxury." Meow. I'm wondering why the lovely Miss Diane is getting all the flack? I doubt she styled her own shoot. Plus, the boots were vintage… so it's not like she's a current and active consumer of fur. Give the poor girl a break! I love animals, but PETA can be a bit of a bully sometimes.
How amazing is H&M? Check out this year's Fashion Against AIDS capsule collection. This season's selections include a slew of smart slogan T-shirts, awesome printed onesies, and sporty zip jackets perfect for Spring, and since all pieces are explicitly unisex, styling options are virtually limitless.
Now in its fourth year, H&M's Fashion Against AIDS campaign has already raised over 41 Million Swedish Krona for parent organization Designers Against AIDS as well as other international HIV/AIDS related causes. The collection is available in H&M’s Divided department starting April 26th and 25% of sales will be donated to youth HIV/AIDS projects around the world.
I know that Rachel Zoe had to have a great weekend! The stylist had a huge, lavish baby shower thrown for her this past Saturday. The event took place at the estate of Juicy Couture founder Pam Skaist-Levy in Los Angeles. The personal and exclusive guest list, which was co-ed (ugh) , included some big names like Demi Moore, Nicole Richie, Joel Madden, Kate Hudson, Brian Atwood, and more. Well I guess since Demi was there that maybe the rumors of a feud or the duo parting terms isn't true. This is sure to be one stylish little man!
Apparently, between 2005 and 2009, 40 garment workers in Turkey reportedly died from a lung disease caused by exposure to crystalline silica, a substance used to make sandblasted denim. As a result, the Turkish government vetoed the manufactoring of the denim; last year, Levi's and H&M stopped using sandblasted products. Now the two retailers have teamed up with the International Textile Garment & Leather Workers’ Federation to fight the use of sandblasting across the garment industry. Other national retailers known for using the same products are Abercombie & Fitch, American Eagle, and even Lucky Brand.

Lace is definitely a popular trend of the Spring/Summer 2011 season and is something women cannot afford to miss at all. It is a beautiful, classic mix of femininity and edge, and it's clever uses makes it always popular. Plus, if you want to have a look like those of teen chic, lace could always be a great choice.
In simple words, lace looks gorgeous on every woman. You can easily combine it with different fabrics in order to get some out of the box look. Well if you do not want to put laces on other fabrics, there is another way possible too. You can wear lace all alone.
With little search it would not be daunting to find the best laces available in the market. Shear is in vogue and you can try it without giving a second thought. The best way to accentuate the beauty of sheer is to team it with sexy lingerie.
Lanvin shoes and accessories are for the women who love to stand out in the crowd, who feel brave enough to go against the average trends. Made of high quality leather, footwear and belts from Spring/ Summer 2011 collection come with metal and wooden details that look interesting and stylish.
Ok all my readers...drumroll: the royal wedding invitations have arrived! I think mine is still making its way over from England (it takes a while, okay?), but I was able to find a scan of the invite on the web. Honestly, it's boring, ugly, and I'm disappointed.
This is a royal wedding, right? So the invitations should be beautiful, shiny, fancy!! Like, really fancy. Dipped in gold and sprinkled with fairy dust fancy. Ugh, these invites are thoroughly unfancy. (Okay, to be fair, the edges of the 8 in. x 6 in. card are apparently “gilded”, but that doesn't count, well to me.) Anyway, they’re kind of like those bulk party invitations from your local Staples that you send to a kid's birthday party at the zoo. They also appear to have been sent in manila envelopes. Queen Elizabeth, that is just boring darling.
According to the text, guests are invited by the Lord Chamberlain (one of the royal household chief officers) as commanded by the Queen. And, of course, there is a dress code for the occasion: uniform, morning coat or lounge suit. To translate, that means military garb, a tailcoat or a boring old business suit. Seriously? Not even black tie or gowns? Even Oprah's daily luncheons have better dressed people. I'm praying Kate does NOT disapoint with her gown.
The invitation was sent out to 1900 guests (the Obamas not among them), 600 of which will be invited to the Queen’s reception at Westminster Abbey following the ceremony and 300 of which will be invited to the dinner Prince Charles is hosting at Buckingham Palace later that evening.
My lovely icons & influential idols Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen scaled back their fashion week presentation, showing the collection by private appointment rather than on the runway . But the designing duo haven't dialed back their ambitions. Showing off their debut handbag collection (amazing!!) which includes a doctor bag, a day tote, an elongated "memo bag," a crossbody messenger, even a crocodile backpack, they said prices will be in the Celine and Hermès range. "The workmanship and materials are at that level," Ashley pointed out. The bags' clean, unadorned look will give them a good shot at It status next season. (Darn)
The Olsens didn't cut back on the details and luxurious textiles either. Their shiny crocodile and fox fur coat is the kind of showstopper they'll probably only sell one or two of at trunk shows, a job requirement the sisters insist that they love. The bomber lamb jacket with a cool edge that was paired with matching velvet pants was more understated. Ditto a cashmere and mink cropped sweater shown over a slim lace skirt. Who else but these two would do this?
Overall, the entire collection is beautifully tailored with impeccable details. They put a modern twist on classic designs, and their love of furs and mink will inspire and leave others desirable.
Say it ain't so Brad. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. But what about the client list? So according a lot of other blogger sites, the rumor going around is that when Brad Goreski left his position as stylist Rachel Zoe’s style director last September, he took Zoe’s client Demi Moore with him. Can you say drama?
A "friend" of Brad's who claims to be close to the situation told Page Six this morning that Goreski will dress Moore for this year’s round of Oscar parties, and that he dressed her for the Sundance Film Festival, too.
I am addicted to Zoe's tv show, as I'm sure most of you are, so we fans of The Rachel Zoe Project can remember that Moore had been a Zoe client for years — she even appeared on the show. And now — according to the story, at least — Zoe is “furious. Brad assisted her in styling Demi. Now she feels betrayed.”
Rachel Zoe hasn't commented yet, and Goreski has already told Page Six he won’t be commenting on the story, either. So there’s really no way to know for sure if this is even true.
Goreski and Zoe parted ways amicably last fall, but there’s been lots of speculation since then as to whether or not the two have been in some kind of fight. After all, now that they’re not working together, they’re competitors. And while it’s possible that competition could put a little strain a years-long relationship, I'm pretty sure that’s where this story ends: competition.
Seriously, Blake Lively is a lucky girl. Not only she has recently become the face of Chanel handbags due to Karl Lagerfeld’s special attention to her but she has now got her own Louboutin shoe. Do you want to know how one can get a designer shoe named after her? Easy! Just go to the shoe store and tell the designer you love his creation. All done!!! Now listen to the story about the Blake shoe…
While shooting Gossip Girl in Paris Blake Lively went to Louboutin’s atelier and couldn’t decide which pair to buy as all the pairs were just wonderful. Christian Louboutin was there at the time. He asked whether the girl loved a pair of shoes she was holding in her hands. She replied she would want to ‘sleep with it under her pillow’. And he said that since then on this very pair would be named ‘Blake’.
This is how Blake Lively herself tells the story (according to WWD) :
I went to the Louboutin store and I was walking around, like every shoe here is so beautiful and I saw this one pair and I said: “I’ve never seen anything like it.”
He said: “Do you love it?” I said: “I want to sleep with it under my pillow every night.”
He said: “We’re naming it the Blake then.” It was insane. It’s like my greatest accomplishment.”
The high-heeled sandal looks very pretty. It features seven straps in a rainbow of different colors, each fastened with a button. The heel and sides are made of black patent leather, and the sole is red as usual.
The Blake shoe, which will soon be available to buy in both the U.S. and the UK, will cost $635.
The yearly awesome fashion event, Elle Style Awards 2011, held at the Grand Connaught Rooms yesterday celebrated 2011 big names in the fashion industry. Among the winners were Tom Ford, Coco Rocha (seriously?), Cheryl Cole, Emma Watson, Blake Lively and many others. The list of nominations was long enough.
Emma Watson (who deserves every award given!!) received Style Icon Award. The Harry Potter actress commented:
It feels amazing. Fashion is something that I love. I try not to think about it too much. I try and block all that off and I just do what I love and just have fun with it. I’ve definitely been feeling the pressure a bit more recently but it’s just fun for me.”
Natalie Portman, who missed the event due to her pregnancy, was named the Best Actress while Blake Lively received Best TV Star award. Blake looked beautiful on the red carpet wearing one of Emilio Pucci gorgeous designs.
Tom Ford was awarded the International Designer at Elle Style Awards 2011. He deserves it, no doubt. I’m glad he’s returned to womenswear. He’s good at it.
The title of British Designer was given to Christopher Kane Courtney. Congratulations!!!
Coco Rocha was named the Best Model. And Outstanding Contribution to Fashion went to Helena Christensen.
Noomi Rapace was honored the Next Breakthrough Talent while the Best Accessory Designer award was presented to Emma Hill.
Dominic Jones received Best Jewellery Designer and Meadham Kirchoff
Cheryl Cole, who appeared at 2011 Elle Style Awards wearing a red-hot floor-sweeping dress, was given Best Music accolade.
was awarded with Next Young Designer.
I have been dying to see this collection. I am a huge Stacey Bendet fan! and this collection is an ecclectic mix of elegance and party-ready with a flapper-era vibe. It's adorable without looking too costumey and it has just enough shine and lace to be successful.
Prices range from $20 for a baby onesie in white to well into the tens of thousands for custom-made Gold Label frocks. The Anglomania collection, with its youthful vibe, ranges from $200 to $900, and the wonderfully cartoonish Vivienne Westwood for Melissa line of recycled-plastic shoes starts at $180.
