Happy Day of the Dead: How Did You Celebrate?

I love back-to-back holidays. Especially my favorite, Halloween and any reason for a round of margaritas, for Day of the Dead. In many countries, All Saints Eve or Day of the Dead is day of remembrance and honoring the dead. Italy, Mexico, France...many countries, different celebrations. In Sicilly, children chant the following song: "While I am in this world of troubles, bring me lots of presents from dead people.” Parents tell their children that if they behave correctly, “i bonarmuzza re muorticieddi” (the good souls of the dead) might bring them presents. Children go to bed in the hope to be remembered by dead members of the family while parents prepare the presents and hide them around the house. In the morning a search will commence prior to visiting the cemetery. Creepy.

My Halloween consisted of my husband and I chasing our now 20 month old son, Riley, around the house and getting him into his clown costume. We took him door to door trick or treating (which he loved, yelling "knock knock" and "tandy!" (candy) and laughing up and down driveways). He was in a sugar coma for about an hour before crashing into bed. My Day of the Dead consisted of me getting my rosary beads blessed, some prayers for lost family members and heading out to a mexican fiesta of fish tacos, margaritas and fried ice cream.

Fashion Icon Chloe Sevigny Cross-Dresses As Terry Richardson for Candy Cover

For the third issue of Candy magazine (Autumn/Winter 2011), actress Chloe Sevigny turns into Terry Richardson. Dressed up in Richardson's signature glasses, haircut and plaid skirt (and of course, the mustache), Chloe gives a thumbs up, as captured by the real Terry. This original and humorous cover continues the magazine's cross-dressing theme - James Franco appears as a woman on the 2nd issue of the publication.

Happy Holidays! Jessica Biel Covers December's Elle Magazine

Justin Timberlake's on-and-off again girlfriend Jessica Biel covers Elle December 2011. I can't believe it's already the holidays again. I mean, really, one second, has anyone else bought presents yet? I haven’t. It doesn’t feel late enough in the year to start so I have to keep reminding myself. Ugh. Well, here’s Biel’s kinda boring cover that has nothing to do with the holidays. I guess Elle using red was their nod to the season? Well, Biel’s wearing white on a white background and she’s wearing an awful lot of jewelry like the one and only Jennifer Lopez. I dunno...nothing says merry about this cover.

So Beautiful! Anne Hathaway At Princess Grace Awards Gala

How beautiful does she look!? Anne Hathaway must have felt really special at Princess Grace Awards Gala posing together with Princess Charlene of Monaco. Both ladies looked amazing on the red carpet. While Princess Charlene wore a luxurious lacy floor-length Christian Dior gown Anne kept her outfit simple. The 28-year-old actress sported a classy nude dress adorned with crystals, pumps in the matching color and dangling diamond earrings.

Why Is My High School Plastered On An Urban Outfitter Sweater??

Ok. So I was on the Urban Outfitters website looking for some winter gear and I saw this "Vintage Preppie Pullover" sweater in a fall red and a classic navy. I thought the idea of a school-inspired sweater was kind of cool, till I realized that the words "Wildwood Catholic" were etched into the sweater. Um, that was my high school (Wildwood Catholic High School in North Wildwood, New Jersey). The red version features the monogrammed "Boys Town Nebraska". I'd love to know who at Urban Outfitters decided to choose this as the school mentioned on the preppy sweater. This sweater brings back the horror days of itchy sweaters that made you so uncomfortable in a drafty classroom with a dusty, hot vent pouring heat over your head. So Urban Outfitters, thanks for a good laugh.
