Olsenboye Collection For JCPenney Spring 2011

Ashley Olsen and Mary Kate Olsen don't often reference their Full House days, but TGIF addicts of the '80s may remember the show's opening montage, with the girls sailing through San Francisco in their infant car seats.

The city's hippie spirit may not have infiltrated the show - the only pot Danny Tanner had was the kind he used to cook spaghetti - but it's definitely infused in the Olsen's latest collection for J.C. Penney.

For 2011, Olsenboye has florals, tie-dyes, and brightly colored stripes, all flouncing around flirty dresses, swing tops, and leggings.  There's also a fair amount of shrunken soccer tees and Balenciag-ish piped blazers for the Blair Waldorfs among us.

Paris Hilton Wore Heels During Community Service

I wish I was kidding. Seriously.

When I served our community service for drug possession and obstruction of an officer, I wore an old pair of jeans and some ratty Converse. Well, that’s a lie. The most dangerous thing I’ve ever done is get a speeding ticket. But if I were to get arrested and then sentenced to community service, I would definitely wear sneakers (or at least ballet flats). Paris Hilton? Not so much. The heiress wore heels — Louboutins, of course — while painting over graffiti with the Hollywood Beautification Team.

Back in August, Paris was arrested in Vegas and plead guilty to two misdemeanor counts (the aforementioned drug possession and obstruction of an officer). Her mugshot was actually kind of pretty, and she tried to class it up for her court appearance. The whole Chanel cocaine bag thing was a disgrace, but Paris got away with no jail time. Instead, she has to be on probation for a year, go through a substance abuse program, pay $2,000 and perform 200 hours of community service.

I’m not quite sure why Paris’s community service stint was photographed, but it did allow us to see what you shouldn’t wear while doing manual labor: heels, skinny jeans and a top that you don’t want to get dirty. Paris did slip a yellow HBT tee over her outfit, but that didn’t protect her from getting completely covered in paint.

I wanted to learn a bit more about this Hollywood Beautification Team business, and a scan of their website led me to this: “Anyone wearing open toe shoes, sandals, high heels, etc, will not be allowed to work. This is for your own safety.” I guess Hiltons are exempt from this rule???
