So the past two weeks have been a lot of hugs, smiles, cards, & celebrating. There's been a lot of happy tears and also a lot of "wows". I was to first thank (if someone from corporate or whoever affliated with this place) McCormick & Schmidt's for our personalized menu! Their menus are printed both for their lunch menu and for dinner, and when Matt went to make the restaurant reservation, he told them we were celebrating our engagement, and on the top of our menus, they printed "HAPPY ENGAGEMENT!!!". Very sweet and touching. Thank you everybody for our cards and all the "congratulations!". We really appreciate it. I spent the last two days in Atlantic City, working, but got to spend a couple nights with Matt and his best friend Nick, who will be our best man. I love free drinks and penny slots!!! It's fun and close to home, but still feels like a mini vacation. My friends Lisa and Cristina from high school came up, and we just walked around, drank a little and gambled, but I was glad they were able to meet Matt. A couple years ago, I think of who would have been in my wedding party and how different people are and how we all change and move in different paths. All of us are in great relationships and as far as I know, we are all happy. I think this might be bringing us back together. I wish that some of my friendships with people would have lasted or stay as strong, but I know its not always possible. But I have learned that it's never too late to catch up with friends, or reminisce about high school or old memories. I love this stage in life. The "graduated or always graduating-semi grownup" stage where everything starts to change. I love the fact that I have friends who I can discuss wedding details with and that they understand exactly where I'm coming from. I even have Starbucks customers who keep giving me websites for cheap flowers or where to buy my tea lights in bulk. I have people bringing me fabric swatches and "how i shouldnt wear my hair" tips. I love every second of this!! Ok, im finally off today, missing my Matt like crazy, but I get to finish schoolwork, relax, and enjoy Hells Kitchen & Grey's Anatomy (OMG!!!) tonight! :)
