It was really only a matter of time before Donatella Versace asked Mad Men star January Jones to front one of her campaigns. They’ve been an inseparable pair ever since the designer tapped the actress to star in an Elle spread featuring her dresses last spring. Or, at least as inseparable as they could get through Jones wearing Versace almost everywhere she went.

But now, it’s official. WWD reports that Mario Testino will shoot the actress for the house’s spring campaign, even though a Versace spokesperson would only go so far as to say that Jones is “featured” in the campaign.

Whether she’ll simply stand alongside other beautiful women (Can you imagine the entire female cast of Mad Men in Versace? Our hearts be still!) or be the sole focus of the shots will be unknown until we see the campaign for ourselves. But what is known is that even a tangential amount of involvement is all Jones needs to be happy in fashion. Last year, Jones said to Donatella, “I want to be in fashion. But I wouldn’t want to be the actress with a fashion line that other people design.”

And honestly, in an age when even Lindsay Lohan has her own clothing line, (with its own legging of the month club) that sentiment is refreshing — admirable, even.
