Now, with winter approaching we do need more colors to cheer up. And despite the fact the collection I’m talking about in this post is for the warmer season it makes me feel better and low temperatures seem less depressing. Don't get me wrong, I love winter, but I wish it would stay fall all year round. I don't do well with bitter cold weather. Bergdorf Goodman 2011 Resort range looks attractive and sooo summery. Eniko Mihalik models a number of interesting swimsuits and accessories.
The photoshoot featuring Bergdorf Goodman 2011 Resort collection is very bright, playful and stylish at the same time. The items are combined perfectly. Rather demure swimming costumes go together with pretty handbags, high-heeled shoes, unusual sunglasses and cute headpieces.
I like the thing Taylor Swift is not like other stars who try to grab attention by exposing a lot of flesh or creating scandalous situations. All she does is singing and that’s good. But I do think that despite her fame and popularity she still feels a bit lonely. I make such conclusions from all those numerous talks about her past relationships and songs she writes about guys she liked. Even in Allure December 2010 issue the country music star reveals about her attitude to wrong relationships and advice she used to give to friends on love matters.
I can't even imagine Chanel without thinking of Karl Lagerfeld. It seems so weird to talk about Karl Lagerfeld’s quitting fashion but this moment is approaching and I have to put up with it. Karl is planning to retire soon but he can’t just leave the brand he dedicated years of his life to. He has been looking for a decent substitute for himself. And according to some rumors he might have found a good designer already – Haider Ackermann.
Karl Lagerfeld commented:
I have a contract for life so it all depends on who I would like to hand it to. At the moment I’d say Haider Ackermann.”
Karl is said to be enamored with Ackermann’s designs. Ackermann, for his part, is pleased with Lagerfeld’s blessing.
He said: "What can one possibly say to such a phrase?! Such a compliment! Honored I feel, how can one not be?! In all honesty tremendously, immensely touched especially coming from Monsieur Lagerfeld.”
Leighton Meester, who plays the role of Blair Woldorf in Gossip Girl, amazed everybody with her sheer lace Marchesa jumpsuit which she wore to the Court of Jewels Recreation launch at the Harry Winston store. The star grabbed all attention with her outfit.
No one will argue on the fact Leighton Meester’s figure is gorgeous but displaying it so boldly? It seems to me too much. Especially after the reserved and sophisticated style of Blair in the film series.
What do you think about Leighton’s option? Do you think she wore any underwear?
Amber Portwood -- one of the stars of the MTV show "Teen Mom" and a.k.a. the "new Farrah" -- has been charged with domestic violence and battery for allegedly beating the crap out of her baby daddy in front of their daughter.
Indiana officials confirm ... the 20-year-old faces two felony counts and one misdemeanor for allegedly attacking 24-year-old Gary Shirley three separate times from August 2009 to July 2010.
Officials have acknowledged that the criminal investigation was launched after the MTV show aired -- which included footage of Amber smacking Shirley several times.
Cops say Amber not only slapped Shirley in front of the baby -- but she also punched him several times in the face and upper-body.
If convicted on all counts, Portwood faces five years behind bars and fines up to $30,000.
That poor little girl. She needs to be put into state custody and given to a foster family to love until Amber and Gary get their issues straightened out. It's so sad to see that little girl cry, be thrown into a crib, ignored, yelled at, and scolded for only being a baby.
Normally I like to blog about what our favorite celebrities wear, but today I saw three different Entertainment Weekly cover options featuring Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway naked, and nudity turned into a story.
The two stripped down to promote their new movie Love And Other Drugs, and the cover shoot went so well (and really, how could it not?) that there were three viable options for the cover.
Blake “I Don’t Have a Stylist” Lively was at the CFDA Awards Monday night in this Chanel dress. What the heck was she thinking??????
I have a huge love and adoration for the sartorial sense of Kate Middleton. Sure, she’s been criticized for playing it safe all the time, but she’s engaged to a darn Royal, so I understand why she errs on the side of too tasteful (and there’s no such thing, while I'm at it).
If anything, I think Middleton’s uniform–nipped jackets, flowy skirts in modest lengths and awesome hats–is commendable: this woman knows exactly what looks good on her. She chooses colors that compliment her skin tone and set off her brunette hair (lots of blues and creams) and always looks relaxed, effortless and quite naturally lovely, which is an accomplishment considering the media scrutiny.
Thus–thanks to America’s sudden fascination with Middleton, Wills and their engagement–I am honoring Kate with some photos of some of her best choices. Burn right, America’s sudden fascination. Burn bright.
It seems like every few weeks I see another reality television D-Lister or fratty D-bag in Ed Hardy merchandise. Every time I am absolutely shocked that the brand hasn’t crumbled into obscurity like its douchewear ancestor, Von Dutch. Instead, it has become a critical part of the uniform of the unlikeable (however, conveniently for the rest of us normal folk, it is also a “worthless idiot bullseye”). As such, I have posted these photos for reminders that seem to scream out in anguish, Why would anyone dress like this? and I’ve added helpful reminders of why you really, really shouldn't!
Joe Simpson will find you more sexually appealing. He might even ask you about your bra size.
Latoya will become your favorite Jackson
You will find yourself in the same category as Tara Reid.
What about “Tara Reid” didn’t you understand?

Jon Gosselin will have a midlife crisis and relate to you. Then you’ll become close.
He’ll get his ears pierced and ask if you think he looks “cool” and “young.” And you’ll have to lie to his face BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT ED HARDY FRIENDS DO.
Sylvester Stallone will suggest you guys go get some “ink.” He promises you’ll look super “badass” and “relevant.” Stallone is a liar but your judgment will be impaired from all the Ed Hardy.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt will invite you to be part of their staged photo-ops and if you hear even one snippet of conversation between them, your braincells will explode to the tune of “O Fortuna.”
Paris Hilton has already tried designing and some of her projects were rather successful. Her latest venture is a swimwear range she has been working for a while. We haven’t heard anything about the collection yet but a few pictures have already leaked the Internet. And it’s Paris herself who promotes the upcoming range.
One of the swimsuits Paris has posed in resembles the sexy red piece Pamela Anderson became famous for. Paris’s version isn’t as provocative but looks glamorous.
Another item from Paris Hilton’s swimwear collection must have been inspired by an American flag. The socialite accessorized the bikini look with Sixties-style white-rimmed sunglasses and an oversized bag from her own collection.
Emma Watson has been making the red carpet rounds at Harry Potter premieres around the globe, but we think her appearance last night in New York was her most sophisticated yet.
The actress stepped out in an ankle-length black Calvin Klein dress with a seam down the front and cross-crossing straps in the back. This wasn’t just any Calvin Klein dress, though — the designer made it especially for her. Why? Because she asked. Duh.
When the folks over at MTV News told her that 90% of their viewers loved her gown as per an online poll, she was asked what she might do to get an 100% approval rating. “I don’t know, take it off?” she teased. Girl is sassy.
Emma paired the frock with strappy copper heels and a bracelet that spanned a good part of her forearm and hand. She dressed up her pixie with a bejeweled hair comb and opted for fresh, dewy makeup.
It's never really that hard to find designer knock-offs, but from what I've read, Google's new fashion venture Boutiques.com is going to make the hunt for fast-fashion fakes as simple as pointing and clicking. And that might be problematic for high-priced designer labels that have partnered with Google on the site. Above, an Anna Sui dress next to an unmistakable knockoff by Forever 21.

Prince William is engaged to Kate Middleton, and has given her the engagement ring his late mother Diana, Princess of Wales, got from his father, Prince Charles, he said Tuesday.
"It's my mother's enagagment ring, so of course it's very special to me, and Kate's now very special to me, so it was only right to put the two together," he said Tuesday.
The ring, a huge sapphire surrounded by diamonds, was last seen in public on the day Charles and Diana divorced, royal biographer Mark Saunders told CNN. That was in 1996.
Tuesday's announcement ends years of speculation about whether and when the prince would propose to his longtime girlfriend.
The prince and Middleton, both 28, have been dating since 2003. Rumors have been rife for years that they were close to marriage.
"It was the right time and i'm very glad to have done it," William said in an appearance with Middleton.
She said she had not always known he would propose.
"We had spoken about our future," she said. "It just seemed a natural step for both of us."
"We're obviously thrilled," said Prince Charles, as he toured Poundbury, an urban development project in Cornwall, with Atlanta, Georgia, Mayor Kasim Reed. "They've been practicing long enough."
"They make a lovely couple, they're great fun to be with and we've had a lot of laughs together," said Middleton's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. "We've got to know William really well. We all think he's wonderful and we're extremely fond of him. We wish them every happiness for the future."
The wedding will take place in London in the spring or summer of 2011, said a statement from Clarence House, William's home near Buckingham Palace. It said further details would be announced "in due course."
"Prince William and Miss Middleton became engaged in October during a private holiday in Kenya," the statement said. "Prince William has informed the queen and other close members of his family. Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton's father.
"Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force."
Buckingham Palace released a statement shortly afterward, saying Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip, are "absolutely delighted for them both."
Clarence House refused to say what Middleton will be called after she gets married, saying any styles and titles are at the discretion of the queen.
William is second line to the British throne after his father, Prince Charles. Queen Elizabeth is William's grandmother.
He met Middleton in 2002 when both were students at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. They started dating a year later.
Prince William studied geography and Middleton studied history of art before both graduated in 2005. William was originally in the same art program but changed to geography; Middleton was widely credited with persuading him to change course rather than drop out.
They first appeared as a couple on a skiing trip in Switzerland while still at the university.
British Prime Minister David Cameron said he spoke to Prince William after the news was announced and passed on his congratulations.
"He was extremely excited about the news and thrilled about what lies in store," Cameron said.
"It's great to have a piece of unadulterated good news that everyone can celebrate," he added. "I'm sure it will be something where the country will come together. ... It's two young people who love each other who've made this decision, and it's a fantastically important and exciting moment for them, too."
Middleton grew up in Bucklebury, England, a small village about 45 miles west of central London. Her parents are millionaire entrepreneurs who run Party Pieces, an online children's party supplies business.
After university, Middleton worked in London as an accessories buyer for the British clothing chain Jigsaw but left the company in late 2007. Media reports said she was interested in opening a photography gallery.
News reports since August have said she is working with her parents' business.
Prince William has a military career and is active in several charities. In September, he graduated from a military search-and-rescue training course and was posted to RAF Valley, the station on the island of Anglesey in north Wales.
He is known as Flight Lieutenant Wales within the RAF.
Middleton lives with her fiance at a house in Anglesey, giving them some privacy from the press and paparazzi, said Eve Pollard, a former editor of the Sunday Mirror newspaper.
The choice of 2011 as the year for the wedding makes sense, she said, because the Olympic Games take place in London in 2012, the same year the queen plans to celebrate her Diamond Jubilee, marking 60 years on the throne.
"Next year was always marked in as the year," Pollard said.
Nicholas Davies, the author of "William: The Rebel Prince," said he thinks William was pressured to come through with the engagement.
"I do believe this came down from the queen and Prince Philip, who is still a very strong character despite his venerable age," Davies told CNN. "They would have said, 'This has gone on long enough. The press knows you're getting married. It's about time you came out and made it known.'"
As for when in 2011 the couple will marry, Clarence House refused to speculate. Bookmakers Paddy Power on Tuesday were offering 3-1 odds on August 13, 2011, being the wedding date, and 4-1 odds on August 6.
It said Saturday, July 30, was less likely, at 10-1 odds, because it falls just a day after the 30th anniversary of the wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana.
The location for the wedding was also being kept secret, though Richard Fitzwilliams, a public relations consultant and royal commentator, told CNN he expects it to happen at Westminster Abbey, probably in July.
William and Middleton broke up in April 2007, despite widespread speculation even then that they were close to marriage. The split was said to be amicable, with the couple determined to remain friends, and the two appeared together in the royal box at Wembley Stadium that July for the Concert for Diana, a charity event to remember William's mother 10 years after her death.
The pair were seen together several more times that summer and were dating again by the end of the year.
Middleton's family is seen as upper-middle class. Such a background bodes well for her future role at the side of the future king, according to Lady Colin Campbell, who wrote a biography of Princess Diana.
"The problem with recent royal brides who were aristocratic is that they thought they were doing the royal family a favor by marrying them," she told CNN, "while the middle-class girls like Sophie Wessex, the countess of Wessex (married to Prince Charles' brother, Edward), and Kate Middleton understand that to be royal requires some sacrifice, and they do not suffer from folie de grandeur [delusion of greatness] the way aristocratic girls evidently do nowadays."
Davies, however, said he feels the opposite about Middleton, who he said lacks the "charisma" shown by William's mother.
"Remember that this young lady has no royal connections whatsoever, and that can be a danger," he said.
Middleton has already met Queen Elizabeth at royal events including the wedding of William's cousin, Peter Phillips, to Autumn Kelly in 2008."
Miranda Kerr appears heavily pregnant on the cover of Vogue Australia January 2011 issue. Very pretty, very feminine and in some way sexy, Miranda poses in an Alex Perry design – a black floor-length dress richly embellished with sequins and stones
Photographed by Carlotta Moye, Miranda Kerr looks great at other photos for Vogue Australia January 2010. The light white dress is fantastic.
O.M.G. Let me just state for the record that my excitement level doubled this morning and this totally made my day!
Prince William and Kate Middleton are engaged, and according to many websites this morning, it happened over a month ago while the fashionably friendly couple was on vacation in Kenya. But finally, this is not a rumor. Buckingham Palace has released a statement confirming the engagement, which means everyone is in the clear. Let the dress speculation begin!!! (My bets are McQueen or Dior).
But first, a few more details about the engagement. According to Reuters, William had informed Queen Elizabeth of the engagement and asked permission from Kate’s father beforehand. And while the Palace released a public statement, Prime Minister David Cameron was told the news during a cabinet meeting. The Palace’s statement:
The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton. The wedding will take place in the spring or summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.”
Middleton has managed to avoid the crazy spotlight for the last eight years of her relationship with William, but speculation has already begun as to how she’ll survive the press frenzy surrounding their engagement. As WWD (somewhat rudely) points out, “Unlike Princess Diana, she appears not to crave attention or a flashy lifestyle.” This is exactly why she is perfect for the throne.
Middleton’s sartorial style can be described as classic, clean, and simple — which may speak to her dress choice. According to WWD, she tends to stick with the same designers and high street brands such as Jigsaw, Katherine Hooker, and Longchamp. One of her favorite lines is Issa, which has led the British press to guess that her wedding dress will be designed by the brand’s designer, Daniella Helayel.
I think it’s safe to say that Kate’s dress will not be traditional, but I'm curious to see if she opts for the ubiquitous (and so overdone) strapless wedding gown over something a little more playful or even vintage inspired. Either way, congratulations to the happy couple — and to the British press, who now have a year’s worth of front page stories. Although one thing has been notably absent from the current crop of stories: details on the ring! According to the Daily Mail, the happy couple are scheduled to “appear in public later today, when the Princess-in-waiting is expected to show off her engagement ring.” I cannot wait to see this bling!!
Have you heard Jessica Simpson is engaged? Because she is. To some football player (well, former NFL player) named Eric Johnson. They started dating in May. His divorce was final in June. Gee, how nice for his ex-wife. Last week her ex-husband Nick Lachey got engaged to Vanessa Minnillo, his girlfriend of four years. Not passing judgement (well, trying not to), just stating the facts. Anyway! This is a fashion blog, so let’s talk jewelry!
StyleList reports Jessica is sporting a vintage Neil Lane engagement ring. The yellow gold ring has a 4-carat oval-shaped ruby accented by 2-carat diamonds on either side. The ring is allegedly a rare piece — probably over 100 years old and from southeast Asia. How much is it worth? An estimated $100,000.
Jessica got a pear-shaped diamond from Nick for their engagement, and Minnillo is currently wearing a 4.5 carat Asscher-cut diamond ring. Battle of the rings, we say! Up next: war of the wedding gowns!
