Dress look familiar? Well Miss Lucy Liu tried to rock the red carpet and be a knockout in her Carolina Herrera gown. I don't know, maybe I am just not a big "print" fan (though I do like paisley and florals), but I was not a fan of Lucy and her dress. Was it that bad? She surely got put on many "worst-dress" lists but was it just because it wasn't safe ? Or maybe it's the hair? Maybe a back-do or swept up regally would have made the dress ok? Thoughts?

Julianne Hough opted for a more dramatic gown by Monique Lhuillier which she wore with Jerome Rousseau shoes and Daniella Villegas jewelry. She accessorized the look with a Salvatore Ferragamo clutch.
Jessica Alba stunned in peachy Oscar de la Renta fishtail gown which she completed with a fur Roger Vivier clutch and a beautiful Harry Winston diamond necklace. She also wore Jimmy Choo shoes.
Kate Hudson who was a presenter at the Golden Globes 2013 opted for an elegant Alexander McQueen gown with gold embellished neck and open neckline. The actress accessorized it with Roger Vivier clutch.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore a black Saint Laurent dress with a side slit and a neck bow. She paired with Saint Laurent’s shoes and belt and accessorized the look with the rings from Norman Silverman and Dana Rebecca.
The Golden Globes are my second favorite night of television each year. Naturally the Academy Awards are my favorite. There is nothing more I love to do than to bury myself under my comforter with a cup of tea and my laptop and follow the red carpet and award show. Sometimes the red carper is just as good as the actual awards. Anne Hathaway is always a stunner and it’s fun to see my favorites, like Meryl Streep, Kate Winslet and Claire Danes strut their stuff in couture gowns. I will be following along again tonight, and I thought I would make this post interesting by just jotting down my thoughts live.
Best supporting actor: my pick? Leonardo DiCaprio. How many years of watching others win over Leo will the Hollywood Foreign Press allow? He is so multi talented and was amazing in D’Jango Unchained. Plus he is beyond handsome and will always be a celebrity crush of mine. And…..he loses, again. Oh to that man. He always wins.
Best supporting actress in a television series or mini series: anybody but Sofia, anybody but Sofia. I cannot stand her acting, her voice gives me a headache and Modern Family is overrated. I am rooting for Dame Maggie Smith, who WON!! Whoopee!
Best mini-series or tv movie: cmonnnnnnnnn Hatfields & McCoys…really? Game Change? Ok, Julianne Moore was BEYOND brilliant and talented as the repulsive and just plain stupid Sarah Palin. Her performance should win her a Golden Globe tonight (but Hatfields & McCoys was three nights of amazing television that I couldn’t get enough of!). (haha, director cracking Palin jokes, love this!)
Best actress in a mini-series or tv movie: Julianne Moore or Sienna Miller (loved, loved, LOVED “The Girl” (side note: I really don’t understand how American Horror Story is a mini-series. Stupid). Awesome win Julianne! (another side note, her childrens’ books are adorable and we love them in our house!)
Catherine Zeta Jones looks UH-MAZING!!!!!!!!! YESSSS cue to “LES MISERABLES”!!! (which MUST! win) but then again, “Lincoln” was so good too.
Who would give Carly Rae Jepson jokes to the President of the Foreign Film press? Eye rolling
The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel??? Um, what?
I need subtitles for Penelope Cruz.
Best Actor in a television series: I AM A BIG BOARDWALK EMPIRE FAN…cmon Steve! Oh crap, DAMIAN LEWIS in HOMELAND! YES HIM TOO!! Oh good, well deserved!!!
Oh she’s back….at least Paul Rudd is entertaining. “Hello!”. Silence…..silence….awkward. “something about the best”….she ruined this category.
Best TV Series: HOMELAND or Boardwalk Empire: YES!!!! HOMELAND!!!!!!!!!!! Claire Danes is BEYOND talented and god, Mandy Patakin is so good (he is definitely the “mole”). Oh there’s Brody’s daughter. She is so boring on the show, why didn’t they kill her off ?
George Clooney sitting next to Ben Affleck makes him look like his grandfather. Since when did Clooney age so much? Is it for a role? The wrinkles?
Jennifer Lopez, are you completed naked covered by a doily??
Best original score: the category given so that people can refill their cups. Coffee break, be right back
Awww Ang Lee! Brokeback Mountain man! I will always love him for putting Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger in the same movie. Naked.
Original Song: I like Adele, I’ll root for her. Plus she just had a baby that has no name (seriously? Nobody has leaked the name out yet??). Wow she’s TALL! (“OH MY GAWD!!!”…lol). (Taylor looks pissed haha). Calm down Miss Swift, you break every record, let her have her moment. “Lovely son….”…and again, no name.
Speaking of Kiefer, was “Touch” renewed? I really liked his show….
Best actor in a mini-series: Kevin Costner is a shoo-in (hopefully). Oh no, Woody is in this category. Good for HIM!! This mini-series was so addicting.
BILL CLINTON! (what is he doing there???) Everybody loves him. Can you imagine if Bush walked in? haha. He looks so skinny! Yes, Bill, “Lincoln” is extroidenary. But what else would you expect from Spielberg? He is true brilliance.
Will Ferrell and Kristen Weig….lol. She looks like a skeleton with a tan. (salmon jokes, this is kind of funny).
Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Movie: Merial Streep….haha. I love Meryl Streep. Hope Springs was a really fun movie, enjoyable and just feel-good. Jennifer Lawrence? Really?? Good for her! She is having a GREAT year!! Go Katniss! (She looks BEAUTIFUL!!!).
Side note….is that ghostly pale girl in the audience Elizabeth Olsen?? Hmm I may have to go online and check out more red carpet moments….if so, girlfriend is downright spooky. (ok, must be with Quentin Tarentino, def not an Olsen).
Best actor in a tv series or mini-series: MANDY! MANDY! MANDY! (please no more Modern Family). Ok, Ed Harris for “Game Change” is fine with me, he was good in it.
Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture: Amy Adams is adorable. Sally Field was so good in Lincoln. Come on Anne!! Yes!!!! Way to go Anne Hathaway! (haha cue the sad music!!). Aw, her speech made me teary. Her husband is good looking…must look up who he is later. Next step, Academy!
Best Screenplay: “Lincoln” baby….wow Quentin. Using the N-Word 200 times worked! Here’s your statue, now you can tell your critics to stick it. Ok, is he on drugs?? Or just cray? He sounds like Gollum at a press conference. OMG Amanda’s face is priceless.
Ok, Salmon Fishing movie….what is this and why haven’t I heard of it??
Debra Messing is beyond beautiful and her hair color is what I suggest every time I’m in the salon chair.
Best Actor in a Comedy Series: SHELDON COOPER------what??? Don Cheadle what?????
Best Foreign Film: haha Arnold and Sylvester are funny together, somebody should put them in a film together. Another chance to get a snack….haha this director sounds like Ah-nold’s fahda
Best Actress in a TV Series Drama: Connie Britton is fab in “Nashville” but LETS GO CLAIRE! YES!!!!!!!!!! It’s THREE FOR THE WIN AGAIN!! CLAIRE!! DAMIAN!!! AND SHOW!!!! I’m just a little excited!! (ok she sounds like a nervous goat, poor girl!). (haha, Carrie was “carrying”.)
Best Animated Film: oh cmon, BRAVE. My son and I watch Brave almost every other day. Merida is the perfect heroine and Disney did such a good job with this film. It’s smart, funny, and has great lessons. Wait, Wreck it Ralph too!? Oh how will they choose!? Yes!!! Brave!!!!
Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical: Lena is great in Girls, and as the creator/writer, she’s got a great chance to win….YESSSSS she did it!!!
Jodie Foster…blah blah, not a fan (ok, Nell was ok. Ok, it was awesome). She’s a class act.
Diddy in the house? Why?
Best Director: Ben Affleck, Argo. WELL DONE BEN. WELL DONE. Take that, Academy!!!! He is so talented, so brilliant, his films are incredible and he is even better BEHIND the camera!!! So happy for him! He seems to be a genuinely wonderful man, husband, father and more.
Best TV Series, Comedy or Musical: BIG BANG THEORY or GIRLS!! Yeah, LENA!!!!
Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical: HUGH JACKMAN….PLEASE HUGH……PLEASE……YES!!!!!!!!!! LES MIS!!!!!!!!! So happy for him!!!!!!!!!!!!! Damn, does he clean up well!!! Again, a class act and so beyond brilliant and talented. He is just amazing.
Best Comedy or Musical: LES MISERABLES!!!! What else???? (I will eat my words if it doesn’t win). WHOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! LES MISERABLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
George Clooney….mmmm…..oh sorry, Best Actress in a Drama: Jessica Chestain, Zero Dark Thirty. Ok, glad that she won, I have been a fan since “The Help”. I have not seen Zero Dark Thirty, but my husband and I have chosen this as our date night movie next week so I am really looking forward to it. Side note, Jessica looks like the Little Mermaid in that dress and with that hair. She looks so flawless.
Best Actor in a Drama: Daniel Day Lewis, LINCOLN!!!! His role was so incredible. Actually, Denzel in Flight was great too. DANIEL DAY LEWIS FOR THE WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I am just beyond happy with all the winners tonight!! Oh gawd, his speech made me cry. Spielberg is amazing.
Pretty Woman……Best Picture Drama: LINCOLN…LINCOLN….LINCOLN…(this Life of Pi nonsense is irritating now). There is competition…..ARGO!!! wow BEN AFFLECK!!!!!!!!!
Ok, so it’s all over. My favorite Musical won, favorite Musical ACTRESS AND ACTOR, Homeland won, Claire and Damian won, I could keep going (omg LINCOLN! DANIEL DAY LEWIS!) but I am just so happy that everyone who deserved to win, well in my eyes, won. Ben Affleck was the underdog and did it!

Famous fashion duo, Mark Badgley and James Mischka which represent amazing brand Badgley Mischka has presented new incredible Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, heavily inspired by the ancient Mayan and Aztec cultures, perhaps dedicated to the Doomsday!
Some make Pre-Fall 2013 seem really edgy and military styled, while some designers take this opportunity to make new incredible feminine curves, and Badgley Mischka choose a very specific and surprising theme for their Pre-Fall 2013 collection. They have made an accent on the ancient cultures of Aztecs and Mayans.
While some might say that this collection is too classy, yet Badgley Mischka are doing their best to suit everybody’s style preference in any age group. Perhaps you have noticed the color schemes of the collection, black with bronze, dazzling red and white/beige hues. This is done on purpose to highlight the incredible artwork of ancient Aztecs and Mayan patterns, which draw our attention to the maximum.
To dedicate the whole collection to the so-called end of the world day is quite daring by itself, yet infuse the collection mostly with ancient tribal Aztec and Mayan patterns is something completely courageous and quite bold, don’t you think? If you are wondering what was on the minds of the creators, Mark Badgley and James Mischka have shared their thoughts on the end of the world day, commenting that “for us, we’re looking at this not as the end, but as a new beginning”!

One of my favorite brands, Alice + Olivia has released new amazing Pre-Fall 2013 collection, which as always features a lot of playful tones, emanating sexy vibes, with lots of novices offered for the season! Alice + Olivia, a world renowned brand which is headed by the founder of the company, Stacey Bendet, has grown significantly since its launch ten years ago. The brand proves to be very versatile, sexy and specifically suited for the young. This pre-fall 2013 collection offers a fresh look on the season’s highlights, as there is no military infusion, no sharp lines, however we must admit that at some point the collection does have certain bold spots! Despite the recent retro inspiration that was shown in the Spring 2013 collection of Alice+Olivia, the enthusiasm was lost and took a new approach as Pre-Fall 2013 showcased some stunning pieces, ranging from special classy evening dresses to funky jackets in curious patterns.
As for the brave patterning, the collection is bursting with energy which is portrayed in many pieces in some graphic and bold prints underlined by a fierce color palettes. Moreover, the fabric choices is also very exciting, such as tweed, lace, leather, chiffon and fur, a total musthave for those like to both flirty and stylish, as well as in comfort.

In what creative director Riccardo Tisci describes as his family inspired campaign, models Kate Moss and Mariacarla Boscono and artist Marina Abramovic star in Givenchy's new Spring/Summer 2013 images. Shot by Mert & Marcus in a simple studio setting, the campaign even stars Mariacarla's newborn baby daughter. The trio wear Tisci's refined monochrome designs while glaring into the camera.
